Launch of Karnataka Grama One Program

Basavaraja Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, said on Monday, January 17, 2022, that the ambitious Gram One programme, which aims to bring services from different departments to people's homes, will be put into action in rural areas of 12 districts by Republic Day. Bommai held a virtual meeting to talk about the plans for getting the programme ready to start. From January 26, it will be used in 12 districts. In a press release, the office of the Chief Minister said that about 3,000 Gram One Seva Kendras will be opened for this purpose. CM Bommai said the programme is already underway in 12 districts and will be held in all districts in the next few days. He told the officials to ensure that people in rural areas could quickly get the services of important departments. It will start on January 26 in Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Belgaum, Haveri, Vijayapur, Davangere, Shimoga, Tumkur, Chikkamagaluru, Udupi, and Kodagu.

Gram One Seva Kendras will offer about 100 services related to the departments of tax, food, health, and work. The release said that these centres will have access to electricity and the internet at all times.
