Yadagirigutta Temple

According to the Third Age Hindu texts or Puranas, there was a sage named Yadarshi, the son of the famous sage Sri Rishyasringa Maharshi and Santa Devi. He meditated inside the cave under the watchful eye of Sri Anjaneya Swami. Sri Narasimha Swami appeared in front of him, delighted with his devotion. The Swami showed himself in five various incarnations after Swami as Sri Jwala Narasimha, Sri Gandabherunda, Sri Yogananda, Sri Ugra, and Sri Lakshminarasimha, and is hence venerated as the Pancharama Narasimha Kshetra. The Sudarshan Chakra directs worshipers to approach the temple. In the 15th century, Sri Krishnadevaraya, the famous monarch of Vijayanagara, wrote in his autobiography about the temple that before going to war, he would always visit the temple and pray to the Lord for success. The Ghat Road connects the town to the capital and the nearest significant towns. This shrine is well-known throughout Telangana.
