Mahakuta group of temples in Bagalkot District of Karnataka State: The Mahakuta group of temples is in Mahakuta, a village in
Karnataka, India. It's a significant place for Hindu worship and home to a famous Shaiva monastery. These temples were built around the 6th or 7th century CE by early Chalukya dynasty rulers from Badami. They have a similar architectural style to temples in nearby Aihole. Two inscriptions within the complex provide more information: the Mahakuta Pillar inscription from 595–602 CE, written in Sanskrit and Kannada, and an inscription from Vinapoti, a concubine of King Vijayaditya, dated between 696–733 CE, written in Kannada.
