National Overseas Scholarship Scheme
The chosen candidates will get a living allowance of USD 15,400 per year and other benefits.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible, a candidate must -
1) be under 35 as of April 1 of the chosen year.
2) belong to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Denotified Nomadic Tribes, Semi-Nomadic Tribes, Landless Agricultural Labourers, or Traditional Artisans.
3) be willing to do a master's level study and a PhD degree abroad.
4) have gotten at least 60% or an equivalent grade in a related master's degree (For PhD applicants).
5) Master's applicants must have gotten at least 60% or equal grades on their bachelor's degree in the same field.
6) have a family income of no more than INR 8,000,000 annually.
Note:
1) The scholarship can't be used for Bachelor's degree courses.
2) Candidates already living or learning abroad will not be considered for the scholarship.
3) Only two people from the same family can apply for this scholarship.
Selection Process:
The National Overseas Scholarship Selection Committee looks at all applications similarly. The people who meet the eligibility requirements are chosen for the scholarship award.
In addition, the National Overseas Scholarship panel looks at the following:
1) Only applications sent in before the deadline will be reviewed.
2) Students who haven't yet been accepted to a foreign university will also be considered, but only if they meet certain requirements.
3) People who have already been accepted to a university in the UK, Germany, Canada, etc., will be given priority.
If two or more people are equally qualified, the following will happen:
1) First, empty spots set aside for women applicants will go to the most qualified applicants.
2) Next, the remaining slots will be filled by qualified applicants older than the age limit. The oldest applicant will get the first open spot, and the rest will be filled in order of age.
Documents Required :
1) Caste/ category certificate
2) Date of birth certificate
3) Scanned signature
4) Current address proof
5) Photograph
6) Permanent address proof
7) Income certificate of all family members contributing to the household issued by a Revenue Officer, not below the rank of "Tehsildar."
8)Employer's NOC certificate (if the applicant is employed)
9) Qualifying mark sheet/ degree
10) Valid document regarding admission to Foreign University
If the candidate was chosen, a Provisional Award Letter was sent out under the National Overseas Scholarship for SC etc. The candidate is required to submit the following:
11) Attestation form
12) Self Declaration/Undertaking regarding total annual family income
13) Self-declaration regarding any pending case/non-conviction of offence
14) Copy of the passport
How to Apply For National Overseas Scholarship Scheme
1)First, go to the official website for the National Overseas Scholarship (NOS), nosmsje.gov.in.
2) After that, click "Login" in the top right corner of the homepage.
3) Click the "Register Yourself" button and finish the registration process. If you have already signed up for the site, you do not need to sign up again.
4) After registering, enter the User ID, Password, and Captcha code and click on the Sign In Button.
5)After that, you will find the link to the 'National Overseas Scholarship Scheme Application Form 2023.'
6)Click the link and carefully fill out the whole application form.
7) Attach all required documents to the entry form and continue. Lastly, keep a copy of the application form in case you need it later.
