This was formerly a dense forest with wild animals.  According to stories, one tiger lives here under the Tamarindus tree.  Even people used to walk that route, but it is not dangerous or deadly.  Villages worshipped the tiger as the goddess Peddamma Talli, and they built a modest temple with her idol within.  Day by day, the temple grew and eventually became a village goddess.
