How to Apply For Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana

Pradhan Mantra Fasal Bhima Yojana enrolment is free for all the farmers. Farmers who wish to get enrolled can contact nearby village level entrepreneurs, common service center, primary agricultural credit society or the bank. They can also contact the insurance company or the national crop insurance portal. To complete the process, the farmers have to have their Aadhar card, bank passbook, land record etc. When the enrolment data is processed, the enrolled person will be intimated about the application status through the registered mobile number.

Eligibility For Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana

All farmers growing notified crops in notified areas can avail crop insurance under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima yojana scheme. Sharecroppers and tenant croppers are also eligible. Farmers who have taken a loan to grow crops from banks are also eligible. Farmers who have taken loans from financial institutions for seasonal agriculture operations would be covered compulsorily. This scheme is optional for farmers who have not taken any loans for agricultural purposes. Cereal, millets, pulses, oilseeds and other crops including horticulture crops are covered by this scheme.

Benefits

Let us see what benefits the farmers get from Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana Scheme. They will be paying a premium of only 2% for Kharif crops and 1.5% for Rabi crops. They will be paying a very low premium. There is no maximum limit for government subsidy. The premium is 5% for horticultural crops. Remaining premium is paid the government. The total insured amount is given to the farmers when there are crops loss due to natural calamities. Government is continuously trying to bring awareness about the products amongst farmers to ensure that a maximum number of farmers get benefited from the scheme.
