This scheme was in their election manifesto as the name of "Navaratnalu" The scheme started on 9th January 2020 at Chittoor. The main slogan of this scheme is to reduce illiteracy in the Andhra Pradesh State. This scheme is for only Under Below Poverty Line (BPL) families who can be eligible and will get 15000-/- rs to their banks every year. Under the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme, Financial assistance of 15000 rupees will be given to 43 lakh mothers or guardians to send their children to school.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh announced the scheme as part of his larger project, Navaratnalu. The Chief Minister will do everything he can to help poor people and send their children to school through the Amma Vodi scheme. All those people will get a reward of 15000 rupees every year, according to the Amma Vodi List. One of the main goals of the Amma Vodi Scheme is to help mothers or recognized guardians of children living below the poverty line by giving them money. These benefits will only be given to children enrolled in approved public, private, or residential schools supported by the government. 3) Financial assistance of 15000-/- rupees will be given to the Mother and Guardian sending their child to school.
4)This will increase the higher education rate in the state.

Eligibility Criteria of the Amma Vodi Scheme
The Amma Vodi initiative will be available to the following students:1) Students must come from families that make less than the poverty line.
2) Students must legally live in Andhra Pradesh and stay there permanently.
3) Students must have an active Aadhar card number.
4) An official white ration card is needed for the student.
5) The student must have a valid and active PAN card.
6) The student must have had at least 75% attendance in the current academic year.
7) It's impossible for the scheme to help the children of State Government Officials.
