The Uttar Pradesh caste certificate, also known as the Jati Praman Patra, can be provided only to persons who meet the following Criteria:

1) Only people living in Uttar Pradesh can apply for this certificate.

2) A caste certificate can be requested by anyone from a caste or class on Schedule-1 of the Uttar Pradesh Public Services.

Documents Required for Caste Certificate

The following documents must be submitted to obtain the Uttar Pradesh Jati Praman Patra.

1. Residence Certificate
2. Certificate from Ward-Councilor / Gram-Pradhan
3. Self-declaration Form

Steps to Apply Caste Certificate in Uttar Pradesh

Step‐ 1:

a) The applicant must go to https://edistrict.up.gov.in/edistrictup/ and click on "Citizen login" to get to the Online e-District Portal (e-Sathi).

b) Register in an online portal with your personal and contact information.

c) A password is generated and sent via SMS/Email.

d) Using the User ID and Password, the applicant should log in to the online portal.

Step‐ 2:

After logging into the web portal, the Applicant must select the "ESATHI INTEGRATED SERVICES" radio button.

Step‐ 3:

Under the Revenue Department, the applicant must choose the "Domicile Certificate" service.

Step‐ 4:

The applicant must make a profile (select the district and enter their DOB and mobile number).

Step‐ 5:

The user charges, which are Rs. 15/- must be paid through an online payment gateway by the applicant.

Step‐ 6:

The person who wants a "Caste Certificate" must fill out the form, attach the necessary documents, and submit it.

Step‐ 7:

Tehsildar checks the application and sends it to Lekhpal for scrutiny. Lekhpal delivers the inspection report to the Tehsildar.

Step‐ 8:

Tehsildar authorises the application and issues the caste certificate based on the Lekhpal report.

Step‐ 9 :

The certificate must be downloaded from an online portal or DigiLocker by the applicant.

Application Fee For Caste Certificate

1) User charges – Rs 15/- (Fixed)

2) There is no service fee.

Steps to Check the Status of the Application

The applicant can check the status of their application by going to the Uttar Pradesh e-District portal.(https://edistrict.up.gov.in/edistrictup/)

1) Choose "Applicant Status" from the home page.

2) Enter your application number and click the "Search" button to see where your application status.
