There is also chance for the volunteers to earn some money, as a winner will be selected and will be given a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 and also a participation certificate.

Eligibility criteria for Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme

Anyone who passed tenth class and above can join as volunteers in Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme. Age of the applicant must be above 17 years. They should be well versed in Tamil and also must have good knowledge in subjects such as English and Mathematics. The person who wishes to work as a volunteer must teach for a maximum of 6 hours in a week. Volunteers who complete their tenth class will have to teach students of 1st to 5th class students and those who completed graduation can teach students of up to 12th class.

Benefits of Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme

Due to the Covid situations since the last couple of years, there is a gap in the education of the students and the Tamil Nadu government wants to reduce this gap through this scheme. The students will get home based training and those students who completed their 10th class and above can get an opportunity to teach the students by registering online for the scheme. Volunteers will teach the students between 5PM and 7PM, after ending of the school time. Students can get benefit of getting help in their studies right at their homes, free of cost.
