Steps to file RTI application online
Here is a step-by-step guide to filing an RTI online:1) Visit the official RTI portal at https://rtionline.gov.in.

2) Click on the "Submit Request" option to file an RTI application.
3) On clicking "Submit Request," a screen titled "Guidelines for the use of RTI ONLINE PORTAL" will be displayed, containing various guidelines for using the RTI online portal. Click the checkbox to confirm your understanding, then click the "Submit" button.
4) The Online RTI Request Form screen will be displayed. Select the Ministry or Department for which you want to file an RTI from the "Select Ministry/Department/Apex Body" dropdown.
5) Provide your mobile number to receive SMS alerts (optional). The fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory, while others are optional.
6) If you belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, select "Yes" in the "Is the Applicant Below the Poverty Line?" field and upload a BPL card certificate in the supporting document field.
7) Following these steps, you can file an RTI application online and use the official RTI portal for quick and convenient access to information from various Ministries or Departments.
