Basara Saraswati Temple is also known as Gnana Saraswati Temple. This temple of Goddess Saraswati is a very old temple from Mahabharat times only. After the Mahabharat war, Maharishi Vyas and his disciples and sage Viswamitra decided to settle down in some peaceful place after the war. So they travelled to the Dandaka forest in search of a place which is peaceful and suitable for their prayers. So they settled at this place and this place was called Vasara at that time as Maharishi Vyas spent a lot of time in prayers. Later people started calling it Basara because of the high influence of the Marathi language in that place. "Bijialudu" who was a Karnataka king constructed this temple and it is known as Basara Saraswati Temple or Gnana Saraswati Temple today.

1. By Air:
* The nearest airport is in Hyderabad which is 259 kilometres away from the temple. So from there, you can come by bus to Nirmal or you can hire a personal car for travelling.

2. By Train:
* The nearest railway station is in Basara only. So the train route is very comfortable for people. Also, people can come to Nizamabad railway station which is 30 km away.

3. By Bus:
* People can get a direct bus to Basara from Hyderabad. As only local people can come by bus. Else you can come to Hyderabad and then catch a bus to Basara.
