The district is bordered by Nalgonda, Suryapet, Janagaon, and Medchal districts. The district has 17 mandals and two revenue divisions (Bhongir and Choutuppal). The district headquarters are in Bhongir, a prominent business centre in the region.

Yadadri is a historical and religious district named after Telangana’s largest and most popular pilgrim centre. The district is home to the Jain Temple at Kolanpaka and the Bhogir Fort. Yadadri district is also well-known for its historical significance. Andhra Mahasabhalu, which launched the Indian freedom movement in Nizam state, was born in this region. The district is well-served by road and rail. Yadagirigutta has a bus station. Yadadri, also known as Yadagirigutta, is a well-known Hindu temple on a hill in Yadagirigutta. The Hyderabad-Warangal Highway takes you there in about 70 kilometres. The temple is the home of Lord Vishnu’s incarnation, Narasimha Swamy. Because it is located approximately 60 kilometres from Hyderabad, the number of devotees/pilgrims visiting the temple for worship is very high. The Telangana government intends to make Yadadri a major religious tourist destination. It will be the most popular tourist and pilgrimage destination in a few months. Bhongir Fort, built on a monolithic rock, is a popular tourist destination offering a thrilling climbing experience. It is a massive impregnable structure built by Chalukya ruler Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI, who is also the fort’s name. The town of Bhuvanagiri/Bhongir takes its name from this magnificent fort. Jain Mandir is a 2000-year-old temple in Kolanupaka village, near Aler town. The temple, adorned with beautiful images of Tirthankaras, is an important pilgrimage site for South Indian Svetambara Jains. Kolanupaka Museum displays exquisite artefacts from Kolanupaka’s numerous historical monuments.
