How to apply for an Offline New Voter Card in Himachal Pradesh

If you are not aware of the Online Application Process, then you can apply through an offline method.  Below are the following steps to apply the offline process:

step 1: Get an application form near the Electoral Registration Officer (or) the Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency, (or)the Booth Level Officers of your polling station. This form is free of cost.

step 2: Fill in the required details in the application form and give them to the Electoral Registration Officer (or) your constituency’s Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (or) the Booth Level Officers of your polling station.

Step 3: Also, you can send the post to the address of the Electoral Registration Officer (or) Assistant Electoral Registration Officer of your constituency. The correct postal address is available on the Election Commission website of the respective union territory or state.

Step 4: Attach the documents like a passport sized coloured photo, Copy of proof of age/identity, and Copy of proof of residence.

Step 5: A booth level officer might visit your residence to verify the address after submission.

Step 6: Your form will appear on the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) notice board, inviting objections. (or) you want to go to the nearest Electoral Registration Office to inquire about the application status.

Online Process to apply for voter ID card in Himachal Pradesh

Step 1: Visit the official website  of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Himachal Pradesh

Step 2:  Click on the ‘Voter card Registration’ to get access to Form no 6, form 6A, Form 7, Form 8, Form 8A

Form 6(Inclusion of Names for Resident Electors)
Form 6A (Inclusion of names for overseas electors)
Form7 (Any objection to the inclusion of names)
Form 8 ( Correction of entries in the Electoral Rolls)
Form 8A (Transposition within Assembly)

Step 3:  Click on Form 6 (Inclusion of Names for Resident electors)


Step 4: Duly fill up Form No. 6 by providing the required details such as your name, age, address, etc.
Remember that the information you provide must be as per your documents.
