Domakonda Fort in Kamareddy District of Telangana – How to Reach & Timings: The Domakonda Fort is in the village of Domakonda in the Telangana district of Kamareddy. Under Qutb Shahis and Asaf Jahis, Domakonda was ruled by a prince. In the 1800s, the Reddy rulers of Domakonda built the fort in the same spot where a fort had been built before. The fort has beautiful architecture that can be explored and shows Telangana’s great history.

You can also call this fort Gadi Domakonda or Killa Domakonda. It is one of Telangana’s most beautiful forts. Hindu and Muslim styles can be seen in the building of the fortress. It has a high wall of granite rocks, followed by a beautiful fort structure with two floors.

Inside the fort are two palaces, a temple complex, and a lotus pond. The palace’s ground floor is made up of arched columns with intricate Mughal-style artwork. The first floor’s round columns and flat ceilings are typical Western architecture. The stained paintings in the windows and the wooden building are beautiful.

The primary purpose of the Domakonda Fort was as a strong defensive structure. There are a lot of temples nearby, like the Mahakali Temple and Lord Shiva Temple, both of which were built by the Kakatiya rulers. The temple is on a raised platform, and a beautifully carved Nandi is outside the temple. There are 18 carved stone pillars in the Shiva temple.

The Government of India is in charge of and takes care of the fort and temples in Domakonda.

How to Reach Domakonda Fort in Kamareddy District

By Air:

Currently, Kamareddy doesn’t have an airport that can be used. The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, 168 km away, is the closest.
By Train:
You can take a train from Secundrabad (SC) to get to Kamareddy. The train ride from Secundrabad to Kamareddy takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
By Road:
From Hyderabad, you can drive to Kamareddy. From Hyderabad, it will take about 2 hours and 45 minutes to get to Kamareddy, which is 117 km away. There are buses from Kamareddy to Secundrabad (JBS) and Hyderabad run by the state-owned TSRTC.
