This is not a new scheme and was named Indiramma Amrutha Hastham earlier. However, the Telangana government made many changes to this program. Eight eggs were provided to children aged seven months to three years. Now, 16 eggs are being supplied. Along with eggs, a two-and-a-half kilogram packet containing wheat, milk powder, Bengal gram, sugar, and oil is supplied on the first of every month. Thirty eggs per month are supplied to kids in the age group of three to six years. Rice, dal, vegetables, and snacks are also given. Pregnant women and new mothers in economically weaker sections were given three kgs of rice, one kilogram of Tur Dal, and half a kilogram of oil. These get 30 eggs, one nutritious meal daily, and 200 ml of milk. The government will provide nutritious food to 5,90,414 pregnant women, lactating women, and 18,20,901 children.

After renaming the scheme Arogya Lakshmi, the Telangana government also enhanced the quantity of food provided to feeding mothers, pregnant women and children below the age of six belonging to economically weaker sections. The government is using rice and milk of excellent quality to be supplied. Anganwadi centers must carry out the scheme with no scope for complaints.

The persons eligible to apply for the Arogya Lakshmi scheme are children under the age of six years, women who are pregnant and lactating women. These should contact the Anganwadis in the village where they are living. Anganwadi teachers are given complete authority. There is no need to submit an application form.
