Hrudaya Jyoti Yojana 2023
The Karnataka Health Department started the Dr. Puneeth Rajkumar Hrudaya Yojana on Tuesday to help people with sudden heart problems or heart attacks. The program was announced by Dinesh Gundu Rao, Karnataka's Health Minister. It had only been two days since the occasion of the death of actor Puneeth Rajkumar. He died of a heart attack when he was 46 years old.
The design was also given a name in honour of the late star. "Karnataka Ratna" was given to Puneeth Rajkumar after he had died. The program can be put into action in two distinct methods. In public places, hub-and-spoke models and automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) should be implemented.
The objective of the Hrudaya Jyoti Scheme
The scheme's goal is to put emergency tools in public places so that people having heart attacks can get medical help within the critical time frame. Ten hubs and spokes will be set up in 85 taluks, and 31 local hospitals will be located in those districts. The aim of the scheme is to save the lives of people who are having sudden heart attacks.
Features & Benefits
The following are some of the key features and benefits of the Puneeth Rajkumar Hrudaya Jyoti Yojana:
1) Recent studies show that young individuals are experiencing heart attacks, with 35 per cent of heart attack cases occurring in people in their 40s.
2) The government has designated the 85 Taluk Hospital and District as "spoke" centres. Additionally, 16 super-specialty hospitals, including the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, have established ten hubs.
3) Tenecteplase injections, which can cost between Rs 30,000 and Rs 45,000 at private institutions, will be free to patients in government hospitals.
4) Taluk level hospitals serve as "spoke centres," and patients are directed to "Hub Centers," which are larger, specialized hospitals, for advanced medical procedures such as angioplasty or angiograms after their initial treatment.
5) The primary objective in cases of cardiac arrest is to maximize the number of lives saved, focusing on providing care during critical hours. The health department has achieved notable progress in this regard.
Eligibility Criteria
