Bihar State with Districts and Tourist Places in India

Bihar State with Districts and Tourist Places in India: When we talk about Bihar, we think of ancient India, when Buddhism became what it is today: a worldwide religion. The word "Bihar" comes from the word "Vihara," which means "Buddhist monastery." At one point in history, these "viharas" were all over the landscape of Bihar, both in villages and cities.

Patliputra, now the city of Patna and its capital, was once the home of one of the most powerful kings in world history. He ruled over much of the Indian Subcontinent and even parts of Iran and Afghanistan to the west. Great religious leaders like Gautama Buddha, Lord Mahavir, and Guru Gobind Singh came from the interesting country of Bihar.

Emperor Ashoka was born in the Indian state of Bihar. He preached "ahimsa," which means "nonviolence," and spread Buddhism worldwide. The tradition of "ahimsa" has continued into modern times, and the land saw the "Satyagraha (or nonviolence) Movement" of Mahatama Gandhi, who is known as the "Father of the Nation."

Bihar is in the east of India. To its north is the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal, and to its sides are the states of Orissa, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh. More than 90 million Indians live there now. The state has some of the best industries and mineral resources and is one of the country's largest fruit producers and the second largest producer of vegetables. But this state, which has a lot of natural and human resources and is the second most populous in the country, has been slow to use those resources to help the state and its people grow. This state, which gave the country its first President of the Indian Republic, Dr Rajendra Prasad, is taking slow but sure steps to join the mainstream of economic growth and take its rightful place in the country's economy in the next millennium.
