The district headquarters is Jalna. This district lies precisely at the centre of the state. History of Jalna District
Jalna district was a part of Nizam state and became a part of Aurangabad district, India, after Marathwada Mukti Sangram. Later Jalna district was formed in 1981 with Bhokardan, Jalna, Jafrabad, and Ambad tahsils of Aurangabad district and Partur tehsil of Parbhani district.
