Most people in our country depend on agriculture for their livelihood, and their financial conditions do not allow the farmers to send their children to schools and colleges. The Farmer's child scholarship identifies such students and helps them complete their higher education. Boys studying tenth class or ITI will get Rs. 2,500, and the girls will get Rs. 3,000. The scholarship amount varies depending on the course the children are pursuing. This will help them complete their education and settle well in life. The scheme was launched by Karnataka chief minister Mr Basavaraj Bommai in the year 2021 and Rs. 1000 crore budget is allotted for this scholarship scheme.
Eligibility for Karnataka Farmers Child Scholarship Scheme
Following are the eligibility requirements for the Karnataka scheme for the Farmer Child.- Only children of farmers are eligible for this scheme.
- They should be permanent residents of the state. The child should have completed the tenth class and should be pursuing higher education.
- If the farmer or the family are receiving an amount under any of the government schemes, they will not be eligible. Scholarship amount differs from course to course.
Benefits of the Karnataka Farmers Child Scholarship Scheme
- Under the Karnataka scholarship for Farmer children, the government will credit the scholarship amount to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
- The scheme is available for post-graduation, nursing, law, PUC, BA, B.Com and other professional course students. The students
- will receive the scholarship amount starting from Rs. 2500 to up to Rs. 11, 00 based on their gender and the course they are pursuing.
Documents Required for Karnataka Scholarship Scheme for Farmer’s Children
- Permanent citizenship certificate of the student
- Aadhar card of the student
- Mark the list of last year
- Farmer ID card
- Bank account number with IFSC code
- Passport size photographs
- Receipt of admission for higher education, which is released by the authority
- A valid mobile number
How to apply for Karnataka Farmers Child Scholarship Scheme
Students who want to apply for Farmers Child Scholarship and get financial assistance from the Karnataka state government1) visit the official website raitamitra.karnataka.gov.in.
2) Scroll down to the bottom of the Online Services Section. You will find the link “Scholarship program for Farmer's children”. Just click on it.
3) It will redirect to another page asking, "Do You have Aadhaar Card" Yes or No. If you have Aadhaar Card, just mark it as Yes. Enter his/her aadhaar number in the next window; if they do not have one,
they must first get their aadhaar card from the nearest aadhaar
enrollment centre. If they have an aadhaar number, they can continue with
the application procedure. Enter the number, and the application form
opens. Fill in all the details, attach the required documents and then click on the proceed button for the application.
4) After submitting on the Proceed button, it will redirect to another page where you must fill in your residence details. The students might need
to submit residence proof, aadhar card, date of birth certificate, farmer
ID card, bank account number, admission letter from the educational
institution and also passport size photographs. Click the “Proceed” button to apply online for CM Raitha Vidya Nidhi Yojana or Karnataka Farmer Child Scholarship Scheme.
