The Karnataka government’s Arundhati Yojana has been launched to assist the people of Brahmin category. In the Arundhati Scheme, the family of the bride belonging to the Brahmin community will be awarded Rs. 25,000 for the marriage and the Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board will implement the Arundhati Yojana scheme.

In the Karnataka government's Maitri Yojana Scheme the poor people of the Brahmin community will be offered Rs. 3 lakh to the bride if she marries a priest or Archakas and Purohits. Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board will implement the Maitri yojana Scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Arundhati Yojna / Maitri Scheme

As per the Karnataka state government, only the candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria for Arundhati Yojana / Maitri Scheme would be eligible for its benefits and the eligibility details are, ● Applicants must be a permanent resident of the Karnataka state.
  • The family of the bride must produce a certificate citing they belong to the economically backward class.
  • Only a Brahmin community Bride is eligible and must produce a certificate stating that.
  • The marriage has to be the bride and groom’s first marriage and second marriages are not accepted.
  • Wedding must be registered and marriage registration certificate must be produced while submitting the application form.
  • The couple has to be married for at least five years to get the benefits.

  • The scheme will help the weaker sections of brahmin families to perform marriages for their daughters.
