Karnataka Ration Card - How to Apply, Eligibility, Benefits and Application Fees: Ration card is an important document in India. This card is given to the eligible so that they get food
items and other facilities at cheaper prices than the markets. This card is also accepted as official
documents to be considered as an identity card. Ration card beneficiaries also can get many benefits.

Karnataka state government issues ration cards to the eligible people based on their economic status.
The number of people in the family is also considered and ration cards under various categories are issued. Civil supplies & Consumer affairs department of Karnataka issues four types of ration cards as per the economic status of the applicants. These are priority household cards, Annapurna yojana ration cards,antyodaya anna yojana ration cards and non-priority household ration cards. Applications for the ration cards need to be submitted online.

Eligibility For Karnataka Ration Card

Every resident of Karnataka state is eligible to get ration card from the government. However depending on the type of ration card, the eligibility conditions changes. Every family can obtain a non-priority household card. Annapurna yojana ration card is given only to people above the age of 65 years. Families with annual income less than Rs. 15,000 are eligible for Antyodaya Anna Yojana ration card. People residing in rural areas can apply for priority household ration card.

 

Benefits of Karnataka Ration Card

This card allows the cardholder to get food grains and other civil supplies at subsidized rates. Apart from this, there are other uses with the ration card. This card is accepted as an identification proof for obtaining income certificates, driving license, PAN etc.

 

Documents Required

If you are applying for ration card in Karnataka state than the following documents should be accompanied by you while filling out the application form:-
  1. A copy of original residential proof 
  2. Passport size photograph of the applicant  
  3. Copy of identity proof like voter ID card, driving license, Aadhar card.
  4. A copy of income proof of the family   
  5. Valid Mobile number or Email address   
  6. A copy of the age certificate of the head of the family
  7. Tenancy agreement (if the applicant is a tenant)   

How to Apply for Ration Card in Karnataka State


To apply for Karnataka ration card, then you can follow the simple steps given below:-

1) Visit the official website (https://ahara.kar.nic.in/)

2)     Click on eServices (ಇ-ಸೇವೆಗಳು) On home page tab it will redirect to other page.

3)Click on the e-Ration Card (ಇ-ಪಡಿತರ ಚೀಟಿ). Then Select New Ration Card (ಹೊಸ ಪಡಿತರ ಚೀಟಿ )

4)Then choose the type of ration card
5)The applicant will be asked to enter the Aadhar number. The registered mobile number will receive the OTP.
6)Enter the OTP to get the Aadhar details. Fingerprints are then verified. 
7)Follow the instructions to add or delete the family members. Give contact details. After thoroughly checking the information entered, save the application.
8)Ration card is usually issued 15 days after the application is submitted. 
9)Applicant can collect the ration card copy by paying a fee of Rs. 100.
