Carrot Pickle Recipe Ingredients

Use the following ingredients to prepare or make Carrot Pickle recipe at home.
  • 1/2 kg carrots (peeled and cut into lengthwise pieces)
  • 2 onions made into a coarse paste
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 broken red chillies
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 11/2 tsp jaggery powder
  • 3 tsp lemon juice or vinegar
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp each mustard, cumin, black gram and fenugreek
  • a pinch each of asafetida and turmeric powder 1 cup cooking oil
  • a sprig of curry leaves
  • salt to taste

Carrot Pickle Recipe Making Procedure

  1. Heat oil in a wok add mustard, cumin, fenugreek and black gram.
  2. Once the seeds splutter add asafetida, broken red chillies and curry leaves.
  3. Later add onion and ginger garlic paste.
  4. Fry till it turns into golden brown. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool.
  5. Along with the carrot, pieces add all the powders, salt and lemon juice to the wok.
  6. Mix well and store in an airtight bottle.
