Bareilly district With Talukas: Bareilly district belongs to the state Uttar Pradesh in northern India. It is divided in six administrative division or tehsils. Bareilly region (Panchala) is described as the birthplace of Draupadi.  After Yudhishthira becomes the king at the end of the Mahabharata, she becomes his queen. Bareilly also figured amongst the PM Narendra Modi's ambitious 100 Smart City list in India. It is the Ninth-largest metropolis in Uttar Pradesh and the 50th-largest city in India. Bareilly is also known by the name Nath Nagri (known for the four Shiva temples located in four corners of the region). It borders Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur on East and Rampur on west, Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand) in North and Badaun in South. It is a level terrain, watered by many streams, the general slope being towards the south. The soil is fertile and highly cultivated in Bareilly. A tract of forest jungle called the tarai stretches along the extreme north of the district and have animals such as tigers, bears, deer and wild pigs. Gomati River passes through Bareilly.

According to the 2011 census, Bareilly district has a population of 4,465,344. Its population growth rate over the decade 2001–2011 was 23.4%. Bareilly has a sex ratio of 883 females for every 1000 males, and a literacy rate of 60.52%. Hindus form 63.6% of population. The main population in Bareilly consists of Kurmis (Jadauns and Gangwars, Patels), Mauryas, and other castes such as the Baniyas, others like Jatavs, Balmikis, Thakurs, Kayasthas & Punjabis. Rohilkhand University in Bareilly was established in 1975. In August 1997, it was renamed as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. Presently, 80 colleges are affiliated to it. Hindi and Urdu are the two main spoken languages in the city. Bareilly has three sports stadiums and one cricket academy. Transportation system is awesome with every mode of transport. Bareilly has 6 railway station.
