Andhra Pradesh Tourist Attractions: Places of Interest in Andhra Pradesh Andhra Pradesh was the first linguistic state that was formed in 1956. The state was divided into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as per the Andhra Pradesh reorganization bill in June, 2014. There are two important regions in the state and these are Kosta Andhra and Rayalaseema. Visakhapatnam is the most happening city in Andhra Pradesh after state division. This sea port city has tropical climate. It has many features to attract the tourists such as beaches, hilltops and so on. Other attractions in Visakhapatnam are Rishikonda beach, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Kailasagiri temple and Vuda Park. Picturesque Araku valley is also very near to Visakhapatnam.

Another popular cultural and pilgrimage center in Andhra Pradesh is Tirupati. Presiding deity here is Lord Venkateswara and the temple is visited by lakhs of devotees every year. Other tourist attraction in and around Tirupati are the Talakona waterfalls, Deer park, museums and Kanipakam. Chittoor is another important town in the state. Major attractions of this place are the Horsley hills, Gurramkonda forts, Kalavagunta and so on.
