 Indira Awas Yojana in Bihar State: Still many people in India, actually we can say more than 20% the population of India is not able to complete their basic needs like food, shelter, and clothes. Sometimes surviving is very hard. But still, people are living their life. They are struggling but moving ahead in their life. Now central government has decided to help these peoples to make their life better. The government has decided to provide houses for these people under Indira Awas Yojana. Many people still sleep on footpaths, under the bridge, near the railway station and other places. But Indira Awas Yojana will help these people to get a house of their own. This scheme is mainly to remove all the temporary (kutchcha) house from Indian villages. If you have your own house where you can come and rest then it will surely remove some burden from family peoples.

What is Indira Awas Yojana?

Indira Awas Yojana has been launched by our former Prime Minister Mr. Rajeev Gandhi in 1985. Later it was restructured as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in 2015. But still the rules and regulations are same and all the people under BPL (Below Poverty Line) and other peoples like some labors, SC/ST peoples are getting help which is very good for our country. In Bihar also this scheme has been there and peoples are getting benefits of this Indira Awas Yojana. Around 2.5 lakhs home has been approved by Bihar government under Indira Awas Yojana. In June 2016 government has received their first installments of money for 29 districts of Bihar. Under Indira Awas Yojana an amount of Rs 70000 has been provided for a home in a plain area while Rs 75000 has been provided in the difficult area to build a home.

The objective of Indira Awas Yojana:

  • People living in rural and remote areas will get some amount to construct their own house.
  • An amount of Rs 70000 will be provided to construct a house in plain areas and Rs 75000 for difficult areas.
  • People under BPL, SC/ST quota, and some labors can get the benefits of this scheme.
  • As per budget 2011, 1000 crores rupees has been allocated for Indira Awas Yojana along all over the country.
  • 25.2 million House has been constructed in India after 1985.

How to Apply for Indira Awas Yojana?

  • All candidates can get their application form for Indira Awas Yojana from their concerned Block officer.
  •  Fill all the details carefully and don’t forget to mention your Serial number in BPL list.
  • After completion submits this signed application form your BDO office.
  • Later your application will go for verification.
  • Your serial number in BPL list helps to see all your information.
  • Also, you need to have a joint account with your husband/wife. Only with a joint account of husband and wife you can get the benefit of this Indira Awas Yojana scheme
  • You will get this form free of cost in Block office. Indira Awas Yojana is very great scheme for these peoples. This is one of the successful schemes and it is going well. Many peoples have already built their house using Indira Awas Yojana.
