Mahabubnagar District Mandals Lists: Mahbubnagar is one of the districts in Telangana. This is located 100 meters away from Hyderabad. This is the district from where the only chief minister from Hyderabad state came from. Earlier name of this region was Palamuru. In 1883 AD its name was changed as Mahbubnagar in memory of 6th Nizam Meer Mahaboob Alipasha. Krishna and Tungabhadra are the major rivers that flow through the district. The district is spread in 18432 square kilometers and has five revenue divisions. This is the biggest district in Telangana as far as area is concerned.
There are 64 mandals in Mahbubnagar district. Total number of villages in Mahbubnagar mandals is 1550. There are 4 municipalities and 108 municipal wards. Number of towns are seven, gram panchayats are 1348 and notified gram panchayats are 23. The district shares borders with Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Guntur, Kurnool, Raichur and Gulbarga.
